The project “Spaces for Engagement: Using knowledge to improve public decisions” is a GDNet initiative, implemented in Latin America by CIPPEC. It aims at using knowledge management (KM) to improve bridging research and policy (BRP) in Latin America through the creation of a rich and diverse Community of Practice (CoP). The underlying purpose is to strengthen the debate about how to enhance BRP between civil society actors that use research and evidence to influence public policy and policymakers interested in incorporating it into their policy decisions. By contributing to the improvement of the way these actors engage with each other, the project seeks to enable more effective interventions for the use of research in policy that lead to more effective pro-poor public policies in the region.
