Africa Humanitarian Action, Ethiopia (AHA)

AHA is a pan-African non-governmental organisation (NGO) providing effective humanitarian assistance to alleviate human suffering, building on the strength of African people to solve African problems. Founded in 1994 in response to the Rwandan genocide, AHA has supported more than 9 million people in 16 African countries, to regain their health, dignity and wellbeing. Currently AHA works in 11 African countries, running programmes in Capacity Development; Health Care; HIV/AIDS; Public Advocacy; Relief & Recovery and Sexual & Gender Based Violence.

African Energy Policy Research Network (AFREPREN), Kenya

AFREPREN brings together 106 African energy researchers and policy makers from Africa and aims to strengthen local research capacity in Africa and to harness it in the service of energy policy and planning in Africa.

CIPPEC is a private, non-profit organization that strives to create a more just, democratic, and efficient State in Argentina to improve the quality of life for all Argentine citizens.

Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA), Sri Lanka

CEPA is a professional service provider promoting a better understanding of poverty related issues in Sri Lanka. CEPA offers advisory and training services, based on applied empirical research, to organisations and professionals working towards poverty reduction.

Chronic Poverty Research Centre (CPRC), UK

An international partnership of universities, research institutes and NGOs with the overreaching aim to challenge existing ideas about poverty and enhance the understanding of policymakers and other researchers about the processes that underpin chronic poverty. Go to CPRC website

Civil Society for Poverty Reducation (CSPR), Zambia

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) is a civil society network involved in the fight against poverty in Zambia. Established in 2000, the overall objective of CSPR was to ensure that civil society effectively and meaningfully participates in the design, formulation and implementation of the Poverty Reduction and Strategy Paper (PRSP). In addition the network has been involved in monitoring the implementation of the PRSP and other pro-poor development processes to ensure that these provides a means by which Zambians can effectively reduce the escalating levels of poverty.

Community Development Resource Network (CDRN), Uganda

The Community Development Resource Network (CDRN) was founded in 1994 by a small group of Uganda-based professionals involved in community development work. Its mission is to promote civil society's efforts to reduce poverty among women, men and children in Uganda through organisational and institutional strengthening.

CUTS (Consumer Unity & Trust Society) International, India

CUTS International (Consumer Unity & Trust Society) began its journey in 1983 in Rajasthan, from a rural development communication initiative, a wall newspaper Gram Gadar (Village Revolution). This monthly is published regularly and has been instrumental in providing a forum for the oppressed classes to get justice. With the Vision of "Consumer sovereignty in the framework of social justice and equality, within and across borders" the activities of CUTS, as a research, advocacy and networking organisation working on several areas of public interest, are divided into: consumer protection; international trade and development; competition, investment and economic regulation; human development; and consumer safety.

Development Initiatives Network (DIN), Nigeria

Development Initiatives Network Ltd by Gte (DIN) was established in April 1999 and is a registered, independent non-governmental organization. DIN's mission is to achieve leadership position as a research and resource centre by using qualitative research to promote social justice and development in Nigeria. DIN's programmes emphasize policy research, advocacy, education, training and information dissemination. In addition, we undertake projects in connection with community participation in policy development and implementation. DIN is governed by a Board of Directors chaired by Professor J.O. Irukwu.

Development Research and Training, Uganda

Development Research and Training (DRT) is a Ugandan non-governmental organization that aims at undertaking policy research and analysis in Uganda . It promotes institutional capacity building, micro and macro analysis and also promotes advocacy on a wide range of social, political and economic issues.

Economic and Social Research Foundation (ESRF), Tanzania

Primary objectives are to strengthen capabilities in policy analysis and development management and to enhance the understanding of policy options in the government, the public sector, civil society, and the donor community and the growing private sector.

El Instituto Latinoamericano de Investigaciones Sociales (ILDIS), Bolivia

Aims to provide an open space for political, social and institutional actors to reflect on the problems that challenge Bolivia with the objective to generate relevant recommendations and support the country's democratic process.

Malawi Economic Justice Network, (MEJN) Malawi

A coalition of civil society organisations, standing for poverty reduction through equitable distribution of economic opportunities, resources and income.

MEDiCAM, Cambodia

A non-profit, non-partisan, and non-sectarian umbrella organisation and is the main network of organizations working on health issues in Cambodia.

Participatory Development Associates (PDA), Ghana

Provides facilitation, training and research services for government, non-government and private organizations in Ghana in reproductive health, HIV/AIDS; gender issues; governance; organization development; and monitoring and evaluation of development projects and programmes.

SMERU, Indonesia

SMERU is an independent institution for research and public policy studies which professionally and proactively provides accurate and timely information, as well as objective analysis on various socioeconomic and poverty issues considered most urgent and relevant for the people of Indonesia.

The Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES), Peru

Seeks to strengthen Peru’s academic community in order to produce and disseminate useful knowledge for analysts and decision-makers in government, civil society and academia. Its mission is to contribute to Peru’s development by raising the level of debate on key options for economic and social policy.

The Southern African Regional Poverty Network (SARPN)

A non-profit organisation promoting debate and knowledge sharing on poverty reduction processes and experiences in Southern Africa. It aims to contribute towards effective reduction of poverty in the Southern African Development Community countries through creating platforms for effective pro-poor policy, strategy and practice.

Unnayan Onneshan/The Innovators, Bangladesh

An independent not-for-profit registered trust which aims to contribute to innovation in development through research, advocacy, partnerhsip and action.

Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA), Zambia

ZLA is a network of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) advocating for fair land policies, laws and administrative systems. The alliance serves to coordinate the activities or member organisations in areas dealing with land issues.
